For wear-resistant shapes and Iinings, and grinding media, call CerCo at (330) 567-2145.

CerCo has the capability to design and build Structural Ceramics into most applications:

  • Alumina and bauxite
  • Barium titanate
  • Calcium carbonate
  • Clay and kaolin
  • Feldspar and nepheline
  • Glass
  • Gypsum
  • Limestone and slax
  • Magnesium
  • Silica sand
  • Talc
  • White cement
  • Wollastonite
  • Zinc
  • Zircon

Our grinding media can be used in ball mill, vibratory or micro-milling applications. Selection of grinding media depends on the requirements of the application. The media size should be at least four times larger than the particles to be reduced (see selection criteria for size availability). Large-size media are required to fracture particularly hard particles in the mill charge; smaller media fill the voids and promote finer grinding.

For continuous grind applications or batch mill, attending to media volume is advisable - maintaining a 40-45% media charge (of mill volume) and keeping throughput constant will provide best results. When changing media material type (steel or stone to ceramic), the feed and exit conveying systems may require modification. Converting from thick stone lining to ceramic will increase milling volume and reduce downtime, decreasing the frequency of lining replacement.
